Steuart Goodwin was born on April 9, 1942 in California, in the city of Riverside. He studied for organist at the University of Redlands. He was active as a composer and organist, but started to built organs after some time. He learned at Flentrop. His first organ was build for the Department of Fine Arts of the University of Redlands in 1970, having six stops on two manuals and pedal.
