Wendelin Walpen was born on May 20, 1774. He was the youngest son of the organ builder Johann Martin Walpen. Around 1800 he moved from his birthplace Reckingen to Siders. He built several organs together with his brothers Josef and Johann. In 1818 he independently built an organ for the church of Visp. He carried out his last known work in 1847 in the Ringackerkapelle. After that no more traces can be found. He probably died shortly after these activities.
