Johann Pirchner, born on August 30, 1900 in Steinach am Brenner, was an organ builder in the employ of Karl Reinisch from 1918. He took over the company in 1936, after Karl died in 1932 and his brother Franz left the business in 1936 to start his own company. The company continued to exist under the name Karl Reinisch's Erben. After the reopening of the company in 1945, Pirchner built organs under the name Reinisch-Pirchner. From 1954 to 1962 he built under his own name, but after that the company was called Reinisch-Pirchner again. Johann Pirchner died on March 30, 1972 in his hometown.
