  • The Hammarberg company was founded in 1847. The company was led by Gustaf Adolf Petersson (1840-1914) until 1914. He was succeeded by Olof Hammarberg (1871-1941), the namesake of the current firm. His son Nils Olof Hammarberg (1913-1991) was the fourth generation. His father and grandfather learned the trade at Marcussen, among others. Until about 1940 the company mainly built pneumatic organs. After that time only mechanical construction was done. Since around 1960, the company has also been building organs with a more romantic sound idiom. The company was dissolved in 2013.
  • The Dutch builder E.N. de Jongh was a student of the firm.
