Conrad or Konrad Hopferwieser was an apprentice at the firms Weigle, Sauer and Walcker, after which he settled in Graz around 1892 as an independent organ builder. He built his opus 1 for the chapel of the deaf and dumb institute in Graz. After his death, his sons Konrad jr. (1905 - 1999) and Josef (1907 - 1999) continued the company.
