Lotar Hintz was born on March 3, 1908 in Deutsch Wartenberg. He worked as an apprentice organ builder at the Sauer company, and also trained with Carl Giesecke and Michael Weise, among others. In 1936 he started his own company in Frankfurt an der Oder. For a couple of years, he also worked as an interim at Eule Orgelbau. During World War II he served in the army. After the war he went to live and work in Köln. In 1948 the company was established in Heusweiler. Later the company moved to Walpershofen, where Lotar died on October 25, 1982.
