Jules Anneessens was the son of the organ builder Charles Anneessens, and formed the third generation of the organ-maker family. He took over the company from his father in 1903. Charles had expanded the company into a competitor of Cavaillé-Coll and Merklin / Schyven with international fame. But led by Jules they proceeded to an increasingly factory-like method of construction. Typical characteristics from the time applied to his organs, and he purchased many parts from the German firm Laukhuff. As for the sound, he continued to focus on the French romantic period. Anneessens advertised with the mention 'Leveraar of Z.H. de Paus'. Jules' brother, Oscar (1893-1944) was also an employee of the company. In 1956, Jules' son Paul continued the business.
