Alois Späth was born on June 16, 1825 in Ennetach. He worked for Vitus Klingler from 1844. In 1862 he took over the company from Klingler. He died on 7 July 1876. After his death the company was taken over by his sons Franz Xaver, Albert and Hermann under the name Gebrüder Späth.
