- Hugo Mayer (January 21, 1912, Wengen - January 21, 1980, Heusweiler) learned the organ-making trade at three companies. He works from 1927 to 1935 at Hindelang in Ebenhofen, then at Link in Giengen and finally from 1936 to 1938 at the Welte company in Freiburg. After this he was hired by the Walcker firm in Ludwigsburg, where he worked until 1952. In 1953 Mayer started his own company in Brebach in the Saargebiet. The company moved to Heusweiler in 1957. In 1974 Gerd Mayer (born 1974) took over the management. However, the name of the company has remained Hugo Mayer Orgelbau GmbH.
- Gerd Mayer was born in Ludwigsburg on April 1, 1941 as the son of Hugo Mayer. He worked in the company with his father from 1957. In 1974 he took over the company from his father. In 2009 the management was taken over by his son Stephan (1968). He passed away on January 3rd, 2024.
- Stephan Mayer is the son of organ builder Gerd Mayer, and grandson of Hugo Mayer. He was born in Saarbrücken on May 22, 1968. He learned the trade at Hubert Sandtner, among others, and joined his father's company in 1992. Here he modernized the design department by introducing CAD-CAM software. In 2009 he took over the management of the company.
