Theodor Frobenius (October 7, 1885 - March 22, 1972), a Dane of German descent, started an organ building business in Copenhagen in 1909. The company initially built pneumatic organs, but from 1916 the large organs were supplied with an electro-pneumatic action. From 1944, Walther and Erik Frobenius, sons of the founder, became co-partners, and the company name was changed to Frobenius & Sønner. From the 1950s onwards, following the example of Marcussen, among others, the company built purely mechanical organs with slider chests and a clear Baroque character. Henning Jensen was director of the company for a long time. Organs were delivered to several countries, including Great Britain, Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands. In 2018 the company moved from Kongens Lyngby to Birkerød.
