The brothers Joseph (1859-1920) and François (1861-1937) Joris learned the making of organs from Charles Anneessens and settled in Ronse around 1890 under the name Gebroeders Joris. Around 1905, Joseph returned to his hometown of Zichem to work as an organ builder. François started working under his own name from Ronse. The workshop was at the address J.B. Dekeyserstraat. His sons Edmond (1897-1951) and Georges (1899-1972) also worked in the company.
