Thomas Joseph F. Robson (c. 1800-1876) was the son of organ builder Joseph Robson (c. 1771-1841). From 1832 he worked as his father's partner in the Joseph Robson & Son company. After his father's death he took over the workshop, which was located on Saint Martin's Lane in London. Thomas also built several large church organs and was a successful entrepreneur and resourceful technician, holding several patents to his name. After his death in 1876, his sons Edmund and Charles took over the firm under the name of E. & C. Robson, a firm which, however, was only active until 1878. After that, Edmund continued to work under the name E. Robson & Co., but no new organs were built since then.
