Eduard Sebald was born on October 10, 1905 in Plattling. His first marriage was to Elisabeth Müller. Their son Rolf Sebald (1927-1986) also became an organ builder. In 1931 Eduard married Maria Hütter. He learned to make the organ at the Weise and Faust firms. In 1936 he did his Meisterprüfung. In 1936 he started a company in Trier together with Max Brandt, piano builder under the name Brandt-Sebald Klavier- und Orgeltechnik. From 1947 he was self-employed under his own name. The company was located at 14 Saarbrücker Straße until 1969, then at Kapellenstrae. After his death on January 20, 1952, his son Rolf took over the company, in collaboration with Rudolf Oehms (1931-1992). Rolf withdrew from the company in 1972, which was continued by Rudolf Oehms. In 1982 he changed the name to Orgelbau Trier Rudolf Oehms. The company was dissolved after Oehms' death in 1992.
