  • A camp for prisoners of war was established in Rimini-Bellaria in 1945, where 150,000 German soldiers were held. At the initiative of organ builder Eusebius Schäbung, an organ was built for church meetings. Construction management was taken over by Werner Renkewitz. The organ was placed on the beach in the open air. During construction, much of the material that was used was found in the camp, supplemented with materials supplied from outside. The organ was dedicated on September 15, 1945.
  • In the autumn the organ was moved to a former aircraft shed, converted into the Deutschlandhalle. It could be played for the first time during the Christmas Eve service. It had also been expanded and now had twelve registers. Both side doors were painted by Peter Recker.
  • After the camp was closed in 1947, the organ was dismantled by Werner Renkewitz and stored in the church of Sant'Agostino. It was subsequently donated to the Diocese of Rimini, but has not been rebuilt. It remained in storage in Sankt'Agostino, where it was lost in a fire in 1963.
