In 1852, Leopold Kohl built an organ for the Nicolaikirche in Pulsnitz with 26 registers, two manuals and pedal. The organ case was taken over from the church's previous organ, built in 1780 by Johann Christian Pfützner. Kohl's organ was replaced in 1912 by a three-manual pneumatic organ by Julius Jahn. In addition to the case from 1780, a number of registers from 1852 were also replaced. The old front pipes were removed in 1917. Hermann Eule carried out a renovation in 1937-1938. Siegfried Creuz renovated the organ in 1988-1989. A final restoration was carried out in 2018 by Ekkehart Groß. Changes to the disposition were made during all restorations.
