The organ in the Sankt Severinkirche in Erpel was built in 1968 by Helmut Seifert. During the construction, the organ case and the still usable pipework from the previous organ of the church were used. This goes back to the early eighteenth century. The maker is unknown. The organ was repaired in 1843 by the Gebr. Weil and in 1885 by Johann Stockhausen. The organ was completely rebuilt in 1929 by an unknown builder. Due to dilapidation, the organ gallery was demolished in 1948. The organ was also in a very bad condition. Walter Seifert built a working instrument with the material in 1952. After the church itself was restored, the organ could also be restored in 1968. This meant a new building by Seifert in the old case, which was completely reconstructed. The organ was inaugurated on December 21, 1968.
