  • Fourth Presbyterian Church in Chicago was founded as a fusion of North Presbyterian Church and Westminster Presbyterian Church in 1871. The congregation started to use the former North Presbyterian Church. A pipe organ by Pilcher from 1865 stood in this building. But the church burned down during the Great Fire of Chicago in 1871. The church was replaced with a new building in 1874, with an organ by Johnson & Son.
  • The current church was constructed in 1912-1914. A large four-manual organ was installed by Ernest M. Skinner, as opus 210. The organ was a gift by Mrs. Emmons Blaine. Church and organ were dedicated on May 10, 1914, although the instrument was not finished yet. Eric DeLamarter played the organ on this occasion.
  • In 1946, the organ has been renovated by the company Aeolian-Skinner. The instrument was revoiced and six stops were added. In 1971, the organ has been dismantled and a new organ was constructed by Aeolian-Skinner, incorporating a lot of pipes from opus 210.
