Bâti par: Hilborne L. Roosevelt (1884) - opus 148
In 1884 Hilborne L. Roosevelt built a new organ for Highway Tabernacle Church in Philadelphia. In 1986 Patrick J. Murphy started a restoration of the instrument. A large part of the interior was dismantled and moved to the large parish hall next to the church, and the bellows were removed form the building for restoration. On August 21, 1986 a big fire broke out in the church building. This fire also damaged the organ, of which the prospect pipes were lost, as well as a number of wooden pipes that were still present. New front pipes have been made by the company A.R. Schopps. The windchests and mechanisms could largely be restored, as well as the organ case.
