- The neo-gothic Sankt Johann-Baptist-Kirche in Oberbarmen was dedicated in 1890. In 1899, a pipe organ was installed by Franz Eggert from Paderborn. It was a two-manual organ with 26 stops. In 1917, the prospect pipes were removed. They were replaced in later years by new ones of zinc.
- By bombings (on May 30, 1943 and March 13, 1945) the church was heavy damaged and the organ was destroyed.
- The stop list of the organ was never published, and nothing more can be found than '26 stops'. Hans-Joachim Oehm reconstructed a possible stop list, using information from other Eggert organs, and the fact that many instruments by this builder of this size have comparable stop lists.
