In 1979 kreeg de Holtkamp Organ Company de opdracht voor een geheel nieuw orgel voor de Plymouth Congregational Church in Minneapolis. Het orgel verving het oude orgel, dat oorspronkelijk was gebouwd door Ernest M. Skinner, maar later werd verbouwd door Moller. De ontwerpfase werd afgerond in april 1980, waarna de bouw van start ging. Eerste Paasdag 1981 was de laatste dag dat het oude Skinner-orgel bespeeld werd. Twaalf stemmen werden bewaard en opgenomen in het nieuwe orgel. Op 15 september 1981 was dit opgebouwd in de kerk.
