• The Christuskirche in Karlsruhe was inaugurated on October 14, 1900. At the same time the organ, built by the Steinmeyer company, was also inaugurated. It had 41 stops, divided over three manuals and pedal. In 1938 it was decided to modernize and expand the organ.
  
• The Walcker company was commissioned to provide the organ with several new stops, so that it had 54 registers hereafter. Steinmeyer's facade remained largely unchanged. Advisor on the expansion was Wilhelm Rumpf. The organ was completed in 1939. In the last years of the Second World War, the church and organ were severely damaged. It was not until November 28, 1948, First Sunday of Advent, that the building could be used again.
  
• Because the organ had suffered a lot during the war, but also because it was no longer to the taste of the organists, it was decided to have a completely new organ built by the Klais company. The old instrument was demolished in 1965.
