- The Mariendom in Hildesheim was completed in the 14th century. On March 22, 1945, the building was largely lost to bombing. After the war, the cathedral was rebuilt in the old style. Rebuilding was completed in 1960. The Breil firm supplied a large organ, which was put into use at the same time as the cathedral. The prospect was designed by Heinz Wolff. In 1989 this organ was enlarged and rebuilt by Klais. The consultant for the work was Fritz Soddemann, organist of the church.
- At the beginning of 2010, a major restoration of the Domkirche was started, which lasted until 2014. The organ was dismantled. A new organ has been built by the Seifert firm, with a large part of the existing pipework being reused, as well as the windchests.
