The so-called Sutton Organ in Jesus College Chapel was built in 1848-1849 by J.C. Bishop commissioned by John Sutton, who also financed the construction. The organ is designed in classical English style. Five seventeenth-century registers are included. In 1927 Harrison & Harrison incorporated the instrument into a larger organ. In the years 1967-1971 Noel Mander rebuilt it again into an independent organ. In 2008-2009, William Drake performed a reconstruction of the original 1848 concept.
