- The organ of the Marktkirche in Detmold was built by the Johann Markus Oestreich and probably dates from 1795. In 1864 it was restored and rebuilt by Rudolph Randebrock. Before those works the instrument was in an unplayable condition. Emil Hammer expanded it in 1940 with a chaire organ. The action was replaced by electro-pneumatics.
- Under consultancy of Helmut Tramnitz, the company Walcker changed the disposition of the chaire organ in 1962 so that it became more in the style of Oestreich. Gustav Steinmann revoiced the pipe work again in the years 1975/1976. The original sound image was largely restored with this. The work was performed by intonateur Fritz Zinsser. In 1985, Steinmann restored the mechanics and restored the mechanical action. Finally, in 1995 the Vox Humana was replaced by a Kopfregal.
