- In 1901 the company Maarschalkerweerd & Zn. a new organ for the Sint Martinuskerk in Hillegom. The organ got a slender neo-Gothic case and pneumatic action with cone chests. The instrument was a gift from the parish in connection with the silver jubilee of the priest, J.C. van Grossel. The dedication took place in June 1901. After the organ's consecration, the inauguration concert was played by Philip Loots.
- In 1960 the instrument was completely rebuilt by the Vermeulen company in Alkmaar. The old organ case was removed and a new front was created. Vermeulen also shortened the pipes of a number of ranks: the Aeoline became a Quint, the Voix Céleste an Octaaf 2', the Violon a Zingend Prestantl 4' and the Dolce a Tertsfluit. Vermeulen modified the Flûte Harmonique into an Open Flute 8' and renamed the Gamba Salicionaal, the Piccolo Woudfluit and the Vox Humana Regaal. In 1986 the organist of the church, Ronald van Baekel, started overhauling the instrument. He corrected the names of the Regaal and the Woudfluit to Vox Humana and Piccolo again.
- Plans for a reconstruction of the Maarschalkerweerd organ using parts from another organ did not go ahead. The organ is currently barely playable. In 2021 it was announced that a new organ will be built for the church, with material from the old organ and from the Valckx & Van Kouteren organ from the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Assistance in Rotterdam-Overschie from 1953. For those plans, a fundraising campaign has started.
