- A new church was built in 1844-1845 between the villages Borkel and Schaft, to serve both parishes. A new organ was installed in this church in 1857, built by F.C. Smits from Reek. The Bourdon 16' (B/D) and Fluit 4' of the Hoofdwerk were delivered in 1858. It is assumed that the pipework of the Positief was installed some years hereafter.
- In 1944 the organ case was destroyed by acts of war. However, the interior of the organ has been almost completely preserved. The company Verschueren reconstructed the instrument as opus 177. Consultant was Prof. Dr. A. Smijers. On October 10, 1948, the organ could be dedicated. The inauguration concert was performed by Michael Stumpel O.C.R (Achel). The original prospect has not been reconstructed.
