- The Lutheran Church in Vaals was inaugurated in December 1737. The construction of the organ by Johann Hilgers did not go very well. In 1763 the church council even tried to dissolve the contract with Hilgers. The organ was eventually placed in 1765. In 1811 it was expanded by Arnold Graind'Orge, and in 1905 the Müller brothers made a new keyboard.
- A restoration was carried out in 1968/1969 by the Merksteiner Orgelbau Anstalt Sankt Willibrord in Merkstein/Aachen, formerly Stahlhuth. Klaas Bolt was appointed as consultant. This restoration was completed in early 1969. The organ was restored in 2009/2010 by the Thomas firm. The missing Vox Humana has been reconstructed. The restoration was concluded with a concert on January 16, 2011 by Henk Kooiker, advisor for the restoration.
